
Requirements for Video on Olarm MAX
- The Olarm MAX and your camera setup need to be on the same Wi-Fi network
- The Olarm MAX won’t stream video using it’s cellular connectivity
- The Olarm MAX requires a good quality Wi-Fi strength to stream cameras
- The Olarm MAX needs to be on firmware version V.1.5.1 or later to support video
- Your camera setup requires an adjustable substream
- Ensure you camera setup has a static IP Address
- Playback will only work should your DVR/NVR support it

We continue to test new camera brands, however you are welcome to try and connect a new brand yourself, and we recommend you follow these steps below:
Step 1: Ensure the camera/DVR/NVR brand you are wanting to add supports RTSP Protocol
Step 2: Adjust the camera/DVR/NVR video quality settings

The below settings are a guideline, your camera/DVR/NVR may not have these settings.
- Enable the "RTSP" functionality
- Ensure the camera has a "sub-stream"
- Ensure the sub-stream is "video only" and not video&audio
- "Reduce the resolution" of the sub-stream to lower settings
- Set the "Frame Rate" to anything below 9 fps
- Set the "Bit Rate" to anything below 512 kbps
- Set the "Bit Rate" to Constant and ensure it is not Variable
- "Lower the video quality" to anything below Medium or Low
- Set the compression format or encoding to H.264
Step 2: Obtain the IP Address of your camera/DVR/NVR through the camera's app or Video Management System
Step 3: Check the RTSP Port number of the camera/DVR/NVR
- The standard RTSP Port number is 554
- You will need to know which brand and model you have in order to determine its Live Stream Path/URL
Step 5: Ensure the camera/DVR/NVR has login credentials set
Step 6: Connect your camera/DVR/NVR in the Olarm APP
