Adding a Provision camera in the Olarm APP


InfoThis guide is unique to Provision cameras/DVRs/NVRs and their setup. Ensure that you have adjusted your Provision camera/DVR/NVR to the required settings.

Step 1: Navigate to you Olarm MAX’s Device setup and select Linked cameras



Step 2: Select Add new Camera



Step 3: Give your Camera a Name



Step 4: Enter your Provision camera's IP Address



You can obtain your IP Camera’s IP Address in your Provision Video Management System

  • Navigate to the ““Function panel” tab

  • Select “Camera” and click on “Edit camera

  • Your IP Camera’s IP Address will be displayed under “Address




Step 5: Enter the Port number


The Port is the number assigned to the RTSP Port on your DVR/NVR. The default RTSP Port number for camera streams is 554. This may have been changed upon setup.

To check the RTSP Port number:

  • Navigate to the “Function panel” tab

  • Select “Network” and choose “Port

  • Ensure that RTSP is enabled

  • The RSTP Port number will be displayed here




To check the RTSP Port number on your Provision IP Camera:

  • Navigate to the “Config” tab

  • Select “Network” and choose “Port” (The RTSP Port number will be displayed here)

  • Navigate to the “RTSP” tab

  • Ensure that RTSP is enabled

  • The RSTP Port number will be displayed here








Step 6: Enter the Live stream path/URL


The standard Provision camera Live stream path/URL is as follows, ensure you edit it to suit your camera channel number:

  • Ensure you enter 2 for sub-stream and 3 for the third-stream

  • Ensure you do not use the mainstream which is 1



Step 7: Enter the User Name and Password used to login to the Video Management System or IP Camera

Ensure that you make use of the login credentials used to access your Provision platform or Provision IP camera. The appearance may vary if you are using the Provision Video Management System or logging directly into the IP camera.



Step 8: Choose which zones the camera will be linked to

This feature is only available should you have added the camera to an Olarm MAX that is connected to an Alarm System with zones. 

Step 9: Toggle the buttons to allow Armed Response access to the camera feed & allow device users access to the camera feed



Step 9: Tap on Test connection which will verify the details entered then select Add




Should the “Test connection fail”, recheck the details you have entered in the Olarm APP. Alternatively, you will need to visit the troubleshooting guide.
