What are active or open zones in the Olarm APP

In the Olarm APP, each zone of your alarm system is represented by a zone card. These zone cards provide a quick visual indication of the status of that zone, making it easier to see whether there has been any activity.

A zone can either be closed (no activity) or active/open (movement or trigger detected). Knowing the difference helps you better understand what’s happening on your property.

Zone Status in the Olarm APP

  • Closed Zone (Green Zone Card)

    • No movement detected.

    • The door, window, or detector assigned to that zone has not been triggered.

    • This is the normal, inactive state for a zone.

  • Open/Active Zone (Yellow Zone Card)

    • Movement or activity has been detected in the zone.

    • The relevant detector, door, or window has been triggered.

    • The zone card will remain yellow for the duration of the activity or until it resets to closed.

How to Trigger a Zone

To see a zone change from closed to active/open in the app:

  • Walk in front of the motion detector assigned to that zone.

  • Open the door or window linked to that zone.

  • Any action that breaks the beam, opens the contact, or triggers the assigned sensor will mark the zone as active.

Extra Tips

  • Zone colours update in real-time based on the alarm panel’s status.

  • If a zone is showing as active when there is no movement, it may indicate a faulty sensor or incorrect wiring. (Contact your installer or alarm technician)

  • Use the zone status to quickly identify which area of your property has activity, even when the alarm is disarmed.
