Troubleshooting an Olarm MAX installation on IDS X-Series Alarm Systems

If you're experiencing issues during or after installing Olarm MAX on an IDS X16/X64 or X-Series Serial alarm panel, follow the steps below to identify and resolve common installation problems.

Olarm MAX LED state is red after connecting to the alarm panel

If the Olarm MAX shows a red LED after connection:

  • Check your adapter board: Make sure you’re using the correct adapter for your panel type.

  • Firmware version: The IDS alarm panel must be running firmware version 2.5 or higher.

    • Press and hold “*” for 3 seconds until keypad beeps

    • Press “*” again to display panel firmware version

  • Location 196 configuration: Confirm that location 196 is programmed to “123456” on the alarm panel.

Can arm the alarm via the Olarm APP, but can’t disarm

If you can arm the alarm from the app but disarming fails:

  • Master code mismatch: Ensure that the master code set on the alarm panel matches the one entered in the Olarm APP.

Unable to bypass zones via the Olarm APP

If the bypass function isn't working in the app:

  • Code permissions: Check the code properties for User 1 (master code) and ensure it has permissions to bypass zones.
