Troubleshooting an Olarm MAX installation on DSC PowerSeries Neo Alarm Systems

Olarm MAX LED is flashing green and blue and not connecting to the alarm panel

The issue is identified by the Olarm MAX LED turning blue, then flashing green, and returning to blue, repeatedly. This behavior can lead to panel instability and communication errors reported to the control room.

Troubleshooting Steps

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the Olarm MAX, including the super capacitor (allow the Olarm MAX to turn off)

  2. On the DSC NEO panel, go to location 380 and disable Comms.

  3. Go to location 382 and disable Alternative Comms.

  4. Restart the DSC NEO panel.

  5. After the panel restarts, go back to:

    • Location 380 and enable Comms

    • Location 382 and enable Alternative Comms

  6. Reconnect the Olarm MAX, including the super capacitor.


Can’t arm or disarm the alarm system via the Olarm APP

If you're unable to arm or disarm the alarm from the app:

Master code missing: Make sure the master keypad code is entered in the Olarm APP.

No signals reaching the control room

If signals are not being received by the control room:

Account code setup: Ensure that account codes for the relevant partitions are programmed as per the control room's configuration in the Olarm Command Centre.

Navigate to:

  • Location 310 (System Account Codes)

    • Program account codes for each active partition.


FTC (Fail to Communicate) trouble showing on Receiver 4

If you're seeing an FTC trouble condition on receiver 4:

Phone number configuration: Set receiver 4’s phone number to the default fail-safe value.

Navigate to:

  • Location 301 (Phone Number Programming)

    • Receiver 004: Enter
      FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
      FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF


Can disarm and bypass the alarm via the Olarm APP, but can’t arm it

If arming fails but other commands work:

Quick arm setting: Make sure the quick arm function is enabled in programming.

Navigate to:

  • Location 015

  • Enable Option 4


Final Step: Reboot the alarm panel

Always reboot the alarm panel after making programming changes to ensure all settings apply correctly.
