TP Link/Tapo camera setup for Olarm MAX video
Requirements for Video on Olarm MAX
- The Olarm MAX and your camera setup need to be on the same Wi-Fi network
- The Olarm MAX won’t stream video using it’s cellular connectivity
- The Olarm MAX requires a good quality Wi-Fi strength to stream cameras
- The Olarm MAX needs to be on firmware version V.1.5.1 or later to support video
- Your camera setup requires an adjustable substream
- Ensure you camera setup has a static IP Address
- Playback will only work should your DVR/NVR support it
Please note: this guide is specific to using the Tapo C200 but should be applicable to other similar cameras in the range.
Step 1: Download and setup your camera app as per manufacturer instructions
Step 2: Navigate to "camera" on the Tapo app
Step 3: Select "Settings/Advanced settings"
- Setup a camera account
- Select "Create new"
- "Agree" to terms and conditions
- Add a "username" and "password"
- Required for the Olarm APP
Step 4: Select "Advanced settings/Network setup"
- "Enable" the static IP
- Take note of the "IP address"
- Required for the Olarm APP
- "Save" the settings
Step 5: Add the TP Link/Tapo camera to the Olarm APP
Follow the steps below to add the camera in the Olarm APP:
- Open the Olarm APP
- Navigate to the Olarm APP menu
- Select "Device setup"
- Tap on "Linked Cameras"
- Select "Add Camera"
- Name the camera
- Enter the IP Address
- Enter 554 for the "Port" (standard RTSP Port number)
- Enter the following Live stream path/URL:
- /stream2
- Enter the "username" & "password" created in the Tapo App
- Select "Test Connection"
- "Save" the new camera
