Setting up a Provision NVR camera for Olarm MAX Video

Requirements for Video on Olarm MAX
  1. The Olarm MAX and your camera setup need to be on the same Wi-Fi network
  2. Please ensure the Wi-Fi network has 2.4Ghz enabled
  3. The Olarm MAX won’t stream video using it’s cellular connectivity
  4. The Olarm MAX requires a good quality Wi-Fi strength to stream cameras
  5. The Olarm MAX needs to be on firmware version V.1.5.1 or later to support video
  6. Your camera setup requires an adjustable substream
  7. Ensure you camera setup has a static IP Address
  8. Playback will only work should your DVR/NVR support it
WarningPlease note that the Playback functionality is currently not supported for Provision

Adjust your Provision camera's sub-stream video settings

Adjust your Provision NVR camera’s sub-stream or third-stream settings by using your camera’s Video Management System or logging into the camera’s settings directly through it's IP Address and assigned camera credentials.

Adjusting these settings will impact the video quality on the other platforms used for streaming


Logging into the Camera/NVR with the IP Address & credentials



Should you be using the Provision’s Video Management System, adjust the sub-stream video settings in the “Function panel” tab
  • Navigate to “Edit camera”

  • Click on the “Settings” for the camera you want to edit

  • You may need to log into the camera itself should it be an IP camera on an NVR

  • Navigate to the “Config” tab

  • Click on “Image” and select the “Video/Audio” page











Adjust the sub-stream’s/third-stream’s video settings as follows:

  • Reduce the “Resolution” to the lowest available option

  • Reduce the “Frame Rate” to around 8 fps

  • Set the “Bitrate Type” to CBR (Constant Bitrate)

  • Set the “Bitrate (Kbps)” to 264 Kbps (you can adjust this higher later on)

  • Set the “Video Quality” to Medium or Low

  • Leave the “I Frame” as default which should be 12

  • Ensure the “Video” is set to H.264

  • Check that the “Audio” settings are disable
