Requirements for Video on Olarm MAX
- The Olarm MAX requires strong or good Wi-Fi signal to stream cameras
- The Olarm MAX and your camera setup need to be on the same Wi-Fi network
- Please ensure the Wi-Fi network has 2.4Ghz enabled
- The Olarm MAX won’t stream video using it’s cellular connectivity
- The Olarm MAX needs to be on firmware version V.1.5.1 or later to support video
- Your camera setup requires an adjustable substream
- Ensure you camera setup has a static IP Address
- Playback will only work should your DVR/NVR support it
Step 1: Adjust your camera settings
Adjust your Dahua NVR camera’s substream settings by using your camera’s Video Management System or logging into the camera’s settings directly through it's IP Address and assigned camera credentials.
Adjusting these settings will impact the video quality on the other platforms used for streaming
Logging into the Camera/DVR/NVR with the IP Address & credentials
Should you be using the Dahua Video Management System, adjust the sub-stream video settings by:
- Clicking on the “Setting” icon
- Selecting “Camera”
- Navigate to “Encode” and the “Audio/Video” tab
Adjust the sub-stream’s video settings as follows:
Ensure you are adjusting the correct channel settings
Ensure you are adjusting the “Sub-Stream 1” type
Ensure the “Compression” is set to H.264
Reduce the “Resolution” to the anything below 640x480
Reduce the “Frame rate” to around 6-8 fps
Set the “Bitrate type” to CBR (Constant Bitrate)
Set the “Quality” to around 2-3
Leave the I Frame Interval at default of 2sec. (should the camera settings allow for this)
Set the “Bit Rate (Kb/S)” to either 320 or 264
Ensure audio is disabled by selecting “More” and unchecking the enabled option
The settings adjusted reduce the quality of video to ensure the Olarm MAX can handle the size of the video stream.
