Connecting/Removing the Super Capacitor on the Olarm MAX
If your Olarm MAX device includes a super capacitor, it is essential to handle it correctly to ensure proper backup power functionality. The super capacitor helps the device maintain power temporarily, protecting against unexpected power interruptions such as an intruder cutting power to the communicator.
Inserting the super capacitor
Locate the JST plug
On the rear side of the Olarm MAX device, you will find a JST connector designed specifically for the super capacitor.
Connect the super capacitor
Insert the plug from the super capacitor into the JST connector. Ensure it is firmly connected to avoid intermittent power support.
Place the capacitor in the internal power supply compartment
Once connected, securely place the super capacitor inside the internal power supply compartment, as illustrated in the diagram provided with the device.
Removing the Super Capacitor
Power down the device
Switch off and disconnect power from the Olarm MAX before handling internal components.
Access the internal power supply compartment
Open the device casing to expose the internal power supply compartment where the super capacitor is housed.
Disconnect the super capacitor
Carefully pull the plug from the JST connector, holding the connector housing rather than the wires to prevent damage.
Remove the super capacitor from the compartment
Gently lift the super capacitor out of the compartment and store it in a safe, dry place if you plan to reuse it later.
