Olarm Home Assistant Integration and Setup

How to Integrate Olarm with Home Assistant via HACS

AlertMany Olarm users have requested an official Home Assistant integration over the years. We heard you, and the official integration is currently under Home Assistant review.

While you wait, you can already use the integration through our GitHub repository by installing it via the Home Assistant Community Store (HACS).

Prerequisites

Before beginning the setup, make sure you have:

  • An active Olarm account

  • A compatible Olarm device connected to a supported alarm system

  • An active Olarm subscription for the device you want to add

  • API access enabled for your Olarm device

How to Enable API Access

  1. Open your Olarm profile in the Olarm APP.

  2. Navigate to Devices and select the device you want to use with Home Assistant.

  3. Scroll to the bottom and open Developer Settings.

  4. Enable API Access.


Step 1: Install HACS (Home Assistant Community Store)

To use the Olarm integration, you must first install HACS.

  1. Visit the official HACS website for installation instructions:
    https://hacs.xyz/

  2. Follow the steps provided to get HACS installed and running on your Home Assistant instance.


Step 2: Add the Olarm GitHub Repository to HACS

Once HACS is installed:

  1. Open HACS from the Home Assistant sidebar.

  2. Click the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner.

  3. Select Custom repositories.

  4. Copy and paste the Olarm HACS repository link into the Repository URL field:

    https://github.com/OlarmTech/hacs-olarm

  5. Choose Integration as the category.

  6. Click Add.

The Olarm repository will now appear in your HACS integrations list.


Step 3: Install the Olarm Integration

  1. In HACS, open the Olarm integration from your custom repositories list.

  2. Click Download (bottom-right), and confirm in the popup.

  3. Once downloaded, restart Home Assistant when prompted.

After restarting:

  1. Go to Settings → Devices & Services.

  2. Click Add Integration.

  3. Search for Olarm and select it.

  4. Log in using your Olarm account credentials

    • Standard Olarm login

    • OR third-party Google/Apple sign-in if linked

  5. Click Link Account.

  6. Choose the Olarm device you want to add.

  7. Add your preferred entities to your Home Assistant dashboard.

That’s it! Your Olarm device is now integrated with Home Assistant.
