Olarm APP is Stay arming instead of Arming

If you try to Full Arm your alarm system but it goes into Part-Arm (Stay Arm) instead, it may be due to a panel setting that changes the arming mode based on whether the system thinks you are still inside the premises.

This setting is usually off by default, but if enabled, it can cause confusion when arming the system through the Olarm APP or keypad.

Why This Happens

When this feature is enabled:

  • If all zones are closed but no exit zone is triggered (e.g., a front door is opened), the panel assumes you are staying inside and automatically switches to Part-Arm mode.

  • If you open and then close an exit zone (often Zone 1) before arming, the system will allow a Full Arm as it detects you have a way to leave the premises.

How to Fix It

  • This behaviour is controlled by a panel programming setting in your alarm system.

  • Disable this setting so that the system arms fully without requiring an exit zone to be opened.

  • Location of this setting depends on your alarm panel model - contact your installer or technician.

Extra Tips

This feature is called "Stay Arming by Default" or "Auto Stay Arm" in alarm panel settings.
Disabling it allows the choice between Arm and Part-Arm without the system making assumptions.
If you are unsure which zone is your exit zone, ask your installer or technician.
