Installation of an Olarm MAX on IDS 806 Alarm Systems

Installation Requirements

The IDS Plug-on Serial Adapter For 806 and X-Series Serial is required for this installation.


Step 1: Programme your IDS 806 Alarm System

  • Enter the installer code followed by a [*]

    • The default installer code is [9999] or [999999] 

    • If these do not work, please contact the alarm installer who installed / manages the alarm system

  • From the installer menu, enter the location code [196] followed by [*]

  • Enter the Serial Security Code [123456] followed by [*]

  • Press [#] button 2 to 3 times until you hear 4 to 5 beeps from the keypad, this will take you out of the installer menu

Step 2: Connect the Olarm MAX

Before connecting the Olarm MAX, power down your alarm system.

Plug the 5-pin side of the reversible peripheral cable to the IDS Plug-on Serial Adapter For 806 and X-Series Serial, and plug the adapter board into the Serial Port on the IDS 806 Alarm Panel.

Cut and strip the 4-pin side of the cable. Wire this end of the cable into the terminals found on the back of the Olarm MAX.

  • Red to + (Positive)

  • Black to GND

  • Yellow to SERIAL 1

  • Green to SERIAL 2


Step 3: Enter the Master/User code in the Olarm APP

Once you have powered up your IDS 806 alarm system, and have added it to the Olarm APP. You will be prompted to enter the Master/User code in the app.
