How to setup an Olarm MAX as standalone Panic Pack

Requirements

1 x Olarm MAX communicator

1 x NC (Normally Closed) Panic button

1 x Power Supply for the Olarm MAX

Access to Olarm COMMAND CENTRE

Step 1: Connect the Power Supply & Panic button to the Olarm MAX

See the wiring diagram below to connect the standalone panic pack.

You will need to provide the Olarm MAX with power using your chosen power source. The device requires a minimum power input of 12V. Once you have wired the power supply and panic button, power up the Olarm MAX.

InfoThe Olarm MAX will continue flashing green and may turn red which is not an issue, continue as per the next steps. The Olarm MAX will turn blue when you put it into standalone mode.

Step 2: Put the Olarm MAX into Standalone Mode

Once the device has powered up, add the Olarm MAX to the Olarm APP and put the device into standalone mode by following the steps below.

  • Tap on the Menu icon

  • Select Device Setup

  • Change the Olarm MAX Setup to “NO”

    • You are telling the Olarm MAX that it is not connected to an alarm system or an electric fence

Step 3: Configure the IO Port in the Olarm APP

The IO Port 1 will need to be setup as an input to receive the Panic button trigger. Follow the steps below to setup IO Port 1 in the Olarm APP.

  • Tap on the Menu icon

  • Select Device Setup

  • Go to Input/Output

  • Click the Arrow & select IO Port 1

  • Enable the toggle to activate the port

  • Give the port a Name (ie. Shop Panic Pack)

  • Tap the Settings dropdown

  • Select “Input” for the Port type

  • Enter “Safe” for the “Text when high”

  • Enter “Panic” for the “Text when low”

  • Enable or keep app notifications Disabled

  • Select what the port is used for and Save


Step 4: Setup the IO Port Monitoring in Olarm COMMAND CENTRE

  • Navigate to the Olarm MAX in your Olarm COMMAND CENTRE

  • Go into the peripherals tab found in the side bar & select the Olarm MAX device

  • Click on the IO Port and enable the tab “Is this peripheral monitored?”

  • Assign an Area & Zone Number to the signal (ie. Area 0 & Zone 0)

  • Search for and select the event description “120 - Panic Zone”

  • Select “High to low (Falling edge)” for the trigger on event

  • Select “None” for the trigger on restore

  • Click Save
