Installation of an Olarm MAX on Honeywell Galaxy Dimension Alarm Systems

Installation Requirements

An Olarm MAX G is required for this installation.

If the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension system has an existing Ethernet Module, this must be removed before installing the Olarm MAX, as it will take its place.

Step 1: Connect the Olarm MAX

Important: There are 2 methods to connect the Olarm MAX to the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension Alarm System.

Before connecting the Olarm MAX, ensure that you power down your alarm system.

Cut and strip the 5-pin side of the reversible peripheral cable. Wire this end of the stripped peripheral cable into the terminals found on the back of the Olarm MAX.

  • Red to + (Positive)

  • Black to GND

  • Green to A

  • Yellow to B

Cut and strip the 4-pin side of the cable and wire this stripped end of the cable into the keypad RS485 terminals found on the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension panel.

  • Red to +12V (Positive)

  • Black to GND

  • Green to A1

  • Yellow to B1

Alternatively, cut and strip the 5-pin side of the cable. Wire this end of the stripped cable into the terminals found on the back of the Olarm MAX.

  • Green to + (Positive)

  • Yellow to GND

  • Black to A

  • Red to B

And plug the 4-pin side of the peripheral cable into the RS485 port located near the keypad terminals on the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension panel.

Step 2: Programme the Honeywell Galaxy Dimension Alarm System

Before programming the Honeywell Dimension, ensure that you power up your alarm system.


Enabling Engineering Mode

  • Enter the User Code and press Enter

  • Go to location 48 for Eng. Access and press Enter

    • Press Enter to change System Access

    • Press Enter to adjust Engineer

    • Set to 1 for Enabled and press Enter to save

    • Press Escape until you exit the menu

  • Enter the Engineer Code and press Enter

Configure Alarm Reporting Formats & Triggers

  • Go to location 56 for Communication and press Enter

  • Go to sub-location 4 for Ethernet and press Enter

    • Enter the value 02 and press Enter for the Alarm Report menu

      • Press Enter to adjust the Format 

      • Set to “1” for SIA and press Enter

      • Enter 4 to set SIA Level (0-4) and press Enter

      • Check Triggers and set to ON as required for relevant triggers

    • Press Escape two times

      • Enter the value 2 for the Primary IP menu and press Enter

      • Press Enter to set the Primary IP

      • Ensure IP Address is set to “1.1.1.1” and press Enter

      • Enter the value 2 for Port No. and press Enter

      • Ensure Port No. is set to “10004” and press Enter

    • Press Escape two times


Enable Remote Access

  • Enter the value 03 for Remote Access and press Enter

    • Press Enter to adjust the Access Period

      • Set to “4” for Any Time and press Enter

    • Enter the value 2 for Mode and press Enter

      • Ensure Mode is set to “1” for Direct Access and press Enter

      • Press Escape five times to exit the menu

Perform a Module Scan

  • Enter the Engineers Code and press Escape

    • The following module will be added:

      • Ethernet module

Step 3: Add Device & Check Functionality

Once you have programmed your Honeywell Dimension alarm system, and have added it to the Olarm APP. Check/Test the functionality of the Olarm APP.
